Mr. Phillip J. Ferraro is also the author of the international bestseller Cybersecurity: Everything an Executive Needs to Know. He has worked globally in the cybersecurity field for over 25 years.
His most recent position was serving as a Managing Director for one of the largest financial services organizations in the world. His role was to meet with the firm’s top clients around the world and help them with cybersecurity issues spanning individuals, families, and businesses.
Prior to this, Mr. Ferraro served as a Global Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) in both the public and private sectors. His responsibilities included leading worldwide information protection and enterprise cybersecurity programs and providing end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of secure global computing architecture infrastructure, with a focus on cybersecurity, protection, and data egress prevention.
Mr. Ferraro has been an advisor to C-suite executives and board-level directors. He has provided extensive and demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity risk management, developed and implemented world-class cybersecurity programs, and ensured compliance with multiple regulatory standards.
His extensive cyber background and experience include CISO roles with the US Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community at large, and two large Fortune 500 firms for which he developed and implemented strategic, comprehensive global enterprise cybersecurity and risk management programs.
He is an accomplished author and sought-after international keynote speaker on cybersecurity and is recognized as one of the top CISOs in the country. He is also among the few who have presented testimony about advanced cyber threats to both Senate and Congressional committees on Capitol Hill.
Mr. Ferraro became a subject matter expert in cyber espionage while serving in the US federal government for 30 years, including positions where he was instrumental in revitalizing cybersecurity programs and significantly increasing the overall security posture.
Additionally, he served in the US Army Special Forces (Green Berets), including numerous overseas tours and combat operations in Southeast Asia, Central and South America, and the Middle East.
Mr. Ferraro holds a Master’s in Information Technology and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. His numerous information security and technology industry certifications include Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Cisco Certified Network Engineer (CCNE), Checkpoint Certified Security Engineer (CCSE), and Microsoft Certified Security Engineer (MCSE).
